Why Is The Republican Party Honoring and Wishing Irrelevant Former Gov Milliken A Happy Birthday?

Today the Wayne County Republican Party issued a meme
wishing Former Governor William Milliken a happy birthday.  He served as Governor of Michigan under the Republican Party from 1969 to 1983.

Milliken hasn't always been the best Republican.  As Governor many thought he was to progressive and

In 2004, Milliken endorsed Democrat John Kerry for President. In 2008, it was Republican John McCain. Although he withdrew it just a few weeks before the election.

Gary Peters (L) and Rick Snyder (R)
Ex Gov Williman Milliken's picks in 2014

And,this last election-cycle, Milliken has endorsed Democrat Gary Peters for U.S. Senate and Democrat Mark Totten for Attorney General over Terri Lynn Land and Bill Schuette respectively.
Former Democrat Candidate For Attorney General Mark Totten with Former
Republican Governor William Milliken

When asked on Fox 2 Detroit's show "Let it Rip" about why Milliken endorsed Gary Peters and Mark Totten , former Michigan Republican Party Chairman said that Milliken was irrelevant.
" FOX 2'S CHARLIE LANGTON: Governor Milliken, this week, endorsed Gary Peters. What’s going on with that?!
BOBBY SCHOSTAK: [Laughs] Well, what’s goin’ on with Governor Milliken? He’s not relevant any longer. It was relevant when…
LANGTON: A fellow Republican is not relevant?!
SCHOSTAK: He’s not relevant to this election. What’s relevant to this election is what Governor Snyder is doing, what Terri Land will do to represent "

Harry Reid Set To Retire At End Of Current Term

Long term liberal Nevada Senator Harry Reid has announced
that he is retiring.  He told the newspaper that his decision to retire from the Senate was not due to a recent accident or his party’s loss of control of the chamber in the November congressional elections.

Reid was elected to the Senate in 1986, Reid previously served in the House. He has endured tough re-election battles in 1998, 2004 and most recently 2010 -- against Tea Party-backed candidate Sharron Angle.

Among other things, Reid will be remembered for allowing the so-called "nuclear option" in late 2013, where he unilaterally moved to change Senate rules to allow a simple majority vote to overcome filibusters for certain nominations. While procedural, the change was significant because it meant the Senate no longer needed the usual 60 votes to advance on controversial nominations.

Details on Pilot That Crashed the GermanWings Plane Into The French Alps

Andreas Lubitz was the co-pilot of Germanwings flight 9525 who reportedly intentionally crashed the plane into the French Alps and killed all 150 people on board.

Here’s what we know:

1. Andreas Lubitz, 28, was German national from Montabaur, Germany.

2. He joined Germanwings in September 2013.

3. He had 630-hours logged as a co-pilot.

4. He allegedly locked the pilot out of the cockpit when the pilot went to use the restroom.

5. He can be heard calmly breathing on the blackbox as flight 9525 descended and crashed into the French Alps.

Was Germanwings Flight 9525 Taken Out By Terrorism Or A Professional Hit?

Was it a professional hit or terrorism?

The mystery that investigators are trying to  unravel on what caused the crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 have made a startling discovery in an audio recording, according to a New York Times report: One of the plane's pilots was locked out of the cockpit before the crash.

"You can hear he is trying to smash the door down," a senior military official involved in the investigation told the newspaper, describing audio from the cockpit voice recorder, one of the plane's black boxes.

"We don't know yet the reason why one of the guys went out," the official said, according to the Times' report. "But what is sure is that at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door."

What is also interesting is that one of the passengers worked for the U.S. Pentagon. One of the  Identified victims were Yvonne Selke of Nokesville, Va., an employee for 23 years at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. in D.C., and her daughter, Emily Selke, a recent graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia. The U.S. government did not identify the third American it said was on the plane.

Yvonne Selke performed work under contract with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon's satellite mapping office, Booz Allen and the Defense Department confirmed in statements after the AP had reported her identity and employment.

Adding to the suspicion of foul play is that the second "black box," the flight data recorder, was found but without any of its contents. The crash apparently dislodged the recorder's memory card which is still missing

It is Time To Cut Planned Parenthood's Taxpayer Funded Subsidies

Should An Organization That Receives Taxpayer Dollars Be Involved In Political Campaigns?  This is the question all
Ted Cruz For President?  You Betcha Say Millions of Conservatives
should be asking.

Planned Parenthood’s net revenue increased 5% to total of $1.21 billion in its organizational fiscal year ending on June 30, 2013, according to its Annual Report 2012-2013, and about 45% of that revenue--$540.6 million--was provided by taxpayer-funded government health services grants.

In the same report, Planned Parenthood said that in the year that ended on Sept. 30, 2012 it did 327,166 abortions.

Clinics in Iowa, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Montana and New Hampshire also received $655,192 in grants from the Department of Health and Human Services to serve as Obamacare “navigators.”

As a Christian, my tax dollars are being used against what I believe.  Human life begins at conception and Planned Parenthood has been dubbed by many as the “Abortion Mill”.

Now Planned Parenthood is getting further involved in partisan politics by attacking Senator Ted Cruz, who announced yesterday that he is running for president.

Senator Cruz has many supporters and they are having their tax dollars used against their candidate of choice by Planned Parenthood.

It is time to cut Planned Parenthood's umbilical cord and end the taxpayer subsidies.

Can Ted Cruz run for president if he was born in Canada?

Today Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, is announcing that he is running.

Ted Cruz  whose full name is Rafael Edward Cruz --was born in Canada in 1970 as his father was working for the oil industry there. The senator’s recently released birth certificate shows his mother was born in Delaware and his father was born in Cuba. The Cruz family left Canada a few years later. Cruz grew up in Texas and graduated from high school there, later attending Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

He also took the extra step of renouncing the Canadian citizenship he said he didn't even know he had.

By virtue of his American-born mother, Cruz, 44, considers himself a natural born citizen and eligible to run for president.

So is he eligible? The majority of legal minds believe he is.

Is there the tiniest sliver of uncertainty? Yes, there’s that, too.

Constitutional requirements for president

The Constitution says any candidate for president must be at least 35 years of age, a resident within the United States for 14 years and a "natural born citizen."

In 2008, people raised questions about the "natural born" citizenship status of both major party candidates.

As of all current legal records, Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his mother was a U.S. citizen. His father was Kenyan.

Then there was John McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal Zone because his American father served in the military. McCain, the 2008 GOP nominee, saw his standing briefly challenged in court.

Interestingly, both of McCain’s potential Democratic opponents -- Obama and then-Sen. Hillary Clinton -- co-sponsored a Senate measure to settle McCain’s eligibility. The April 2008 resolution said, "John Sidney McCain, III, is a 'natural born Citizen' under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States."

Defining "natural born"

So what is a "natural born" citizen? The Constitution doesn’t specifically say.

The consensus amongst many top constitutional scholars is  that someone is a "natural born" citizen if they have citizenship at birth and don’t have to go through a naturalization process to become a citizen.

If that’s the definition, then Cruz is a natural born citizen by being born to an American mother and having her citizenship at birth. (This same logic would apply to Obama, even if he were born in another country such as Kenya)

The Congressional Research Service published a report on the issue after the 2008 election; the agency is tasked with providing authoritative research to all members of Congress. It, too, supported the thinking that "natural born" citizenship means citizenship held "at birth."

But the Supreme Court -- the ultimate arbiter of constitutional questions -- has never ruled on the matter. And that means a note of uncertainty remains.

Solar Activity Controls Global Climate, Man Made Climate Change Is A Myth

Recent studies have shown results linking shifts in sunspot
frequency and climate changes over thousands of years suggest that the past 18-year-long period of flat global temperatures appear to be a prelude to a much longer cooling cycle.

While causes behind these magnetic inconsistencies are uncertain, observable connections between solar and Earth climate patterns are clear. Reduced periods of sunspot activity correlate with cooler and very cold periods, with higher incidences producing opposite effects.

If a leading theory regarding why this occurs is correct, a weaker magnetic heliosphere surrounding our Solar System evidenced by low sunspot activity permits more cosmic rays from deep space to enter Earth’s protective magnetosphere and atmosphere. This increased flux of heavy electrons— or “muons” — striking the atmosphere produces increased cloud cover, in turn reflecting more solar radiation away from Earth and back to space.

Since none of this has anything to do with human-caused atmospheric CO2 emissions, you can bet that the UN and its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are very cool on the theory and its chilling political science implications. It follows that since both the Sun and climate began changing billions of years before the Industrial Revolution, neither conditions can be blamed on fossil-fueled smokestacks and SUVs.

Dr Fritz Vahrenhold
A notable IPCC critic is Dr. Fritz Vahrenholt, a former leader of Germany’s environmental movement who also headed the renewable energy division of the country’s second largest utility company. He recently co-authored a book with Dr. Fritz Sebastian Luning titled, The Cold Sun: Why the Climate Disaster Won’t Happen.  –

Dr. Vahrenholt expects the world to get cooler in the future for three reasons: (1) we are or soon will be beginning on the downward flank of the Sun’s Gleissberg and Suess cycles; (2) solar activity during the next cycle may extend our current very weak one; and (3) ocean cycles will be in cooling phases over the next decades as well.

A research team in Sweden which analyzed patterns of solar activity at the end of the last Ice Age around 20,000 – 10,000 years ago concluded that changes in solar activity and their influences on climate are nothing new, especially on a regional level. An analysis of trace elements in ice cores in Greenland and cave formations from China revealed that Sweden was then covered by a thick ice sheet that stretched all the way down to northern Germany.

Water contained in those frozen ice caps resulted in sea levels which were more than 100 meters lower than at present.

Furthermore, the August 2014 study report’s co-author Dr. Raimund Muscheler, a lecturer in Quaternary Geology at Lund University, observes: “Reduced solar activity could lead to colder winters in Northern Europe. This is because the Sun’s UV radiation affects the atmospheric circulation. Interestingly, the same processes lead to warmer winters in Greenland, with greater snowfall and more storms.”

While the Sun was abnormally active during the 20th century, many scientists believe that this condition is now coming to an end. Although the Royal Observatory of Belgium’s July average monthly sunspot count increased slightly for the sixth straight month despite a rare mid-month spotless day, solar Cycle 24 still remains to be the weakest in 100 years.

It is predicted that increased counts may continue for a few more months before activity once again begins to fade. In fact, long-term indicators suggest that the next sunspot cycle will be much weaker than this one. If so, as with other extended periods of inactivity as occurred during Cycles 3, 4, and 5 which marked the beginning of a “Dalton Minimum,” we can expect the past 18 years of flat global temperatures to become significantly cooler.

How to fix the roads without raising taxes

Senator Patrick Colbeck
On May 5th, voters will be asked to consider a ballot proposal that would seek to fix our roads by increasing our taxes.  Voters have been told that there are no other viable alternatives.  After much investigation, I believe that it is important that voters understand that there are indeed alternatives that merit further consideration.

Over the past four years, I served as Vice Chair of the Senate Transportation Subcommittee on Appropriations.  During this period, I have spent significant time with constituents and other legislators studying the serious problem of the deteriorating condition of our roads and bridges inur state. Furthermore, I have examined how Michigan’s road investments and road quality compare to other states.  As a result of these efforts, I have assembled no less than four viable options that would allow us to fix our roads without raising taxes.

The first of these options is a blast from the past commonly
referred to as “the Bolger Plan”.  This option had already passed the State House of Representatives last year but was replaced by the current road plan in the Senate.  Among other things, this plan would ensure that 100% of the taxes raised at the gas pump would go towards fixing our roads.  This option would add $149M to our road budget in the first year.

The second of these options is to simply prioritize the spending of existing funds.  This option features freezing general fund budgets with projected increases except for K-12 education, allocating 100% of “1-Time” spending to roads, using the Budget Stabilization Fund to “stabilize the budget”, and open up several restricted funds to allow usage of their fund balances to offset road maintenance costs.  This option would add $669M to our road budget in the first year.

The third of these options is to reduce our expenses.  These expense reduction opportunities can be broken down into MDOT cost reductions, non-MDOT government cost reductions, and the removal of Federal Regulations that drive the cost of road construction.  This option would not only address the quality of our road construction as a means of reducing total lifecycle costs; it would also address the quality of our government operations.  This option would yield at least another $53M to our road budget in the first year.

The last of these options is simply an “all of the above” option.  All told, we have the opportunity to put $869M towards fixing our roads in year one and apply over $1.4B towards maintaining our roads for each subsequent year.

I have focused on first year spending because, as a public safety issue, I believe that we need to demonstrate that we are committed to fixing the roads as quickly as possible.  The options outlined above would enable us to put $869M towards fixing the roads in the first year WITHOUT raising taxes.  For comparison purposes, Ballot Proposal 15-1 would only put $434M towards the roads in year one…and that is after increasing the taxes that you pay by $1.7B.  In other words, the sum total of these options improve the safety of our roads more than twice as fast as the Ballot Proposal…and it does so without any tax increases.

As a fellow taxpayer, I believe that these options deserve more consideration than the current dismissive commentary would indicate.  I encourage you to take time to explore these four alternatives.  There may be some who are opposed to these alternatives simply because they don’t believe that there are the votes needed to pass them.  As engaged citizens, it is our duty to keep pressing and ask “why”.  Why are film credits a higher priority than roads?  Why are we putting money away into restricted funds that sustain lower priority programs at the expense of putting more resources towards road construction?  Why don’t we build roads that last longer?

It is important for us all to realize that there are indeed ways to fix our roads without taking more money out of your wallets.  More information on these options is available in the Solution Center at

Israel's Netanyahu declares victory in tight race, Obama's Meddling Fails

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared victory after a tight national election appeared to give him the upper hand in forming the country's next coalition government.

In a statement released on Twitter, Netanyahu says that "against all odds" his Likud party and the nationalist camp secured a "great victory."

This is another stunning defeat for Barack Obama whose administration is now under investigation for possibly using taxpayer funds to support the opposition leader running against Netanyahu.

As has been reported, there has been no love lost between Netanyahu, a hard lined conservative military leader and the U.S. liberal community activist  President Obama.

GOP Congressman Resigns Amid Scandal

Schock Rally with Mitt and Anne Romney
Politico reports that Aaron Schock — who has faced a string of unflattering revelations concerning his spending habits and may have broken financial disclosure laws — will step down at the end of the month:

“Today, I am announcing my resignation as a Member of the United States House of Representatives effective March 31,” Schock said in a statement. “I do this with a heavy heart. Serving the people of the 18th District is the highest and greatest honor I have had in my life. I thank them for their faith in electing me and letting me represent their interests in Washington. I have given them my all over the last six years. I have traveled to all corners of the District to meet with the people I’ve been fortunate to be able to call my friends and neighbors.”

“But the constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficultfor me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself. I have always sought to do what’s best for my constituents and I thank them for the opportunity to serve,” he said in a statement.

Mounting evidence that Schock charged taxpayers and campaign donors to fund his high-flying lifestyle triggered a probe by the Office of Congressional Ethics, and the soon-to-be-ex-congressman has also hired two prominent criminal defense attorneys

They came as slaves: human cargo transported on British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the
hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.

Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. Some were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.

We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? We know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade.

But are we talking about African slavery? King James VI and Charles I also led a continued effort to enslave the Irish. Britain’s Oliver Cromwell furthered this practice of dehumanizing one’s next door neighbor.

The Irish slave trade began when James VI sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies.

By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.

Ireland quickly became the biggest source of human livestock for English merchants. The majority of the early slaves to the New World were actually white.

From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English and another 300,000 were sold as slaves. Ireland’s population fell from about 1,500,000 to 600,000 in one single decade.

Families were ripped apart as the British did not allow Irish dads to take their wives and children with them across the Atlantic. This led to a helpless population of homeless women and children. Britain’s solution was to auction them off as well.

During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia.

Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.

Many people today will avoid calling the Irish slaves what they truly were: Slaves. They’ll come up with terms like “Indentured Servants” to describe what occurred to the Irish. However, in most cases from the 17th and 18th centuries, Irish slaves were nothing more than human cattle.

As an example, the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period. It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.

African slaves were very expensive during the late 1600s (£50 Sterling). Irish slaves came cheap (no more than £5 Sterling). If a planter whipped, branded or beat an Irish slave to death, it was never a crime. A death was a monetary setback, but far cheaper than killing a more expensive African.

The English masters quickly began breeding the Irish women for both their own personal pleasure and for greater profit. Children of slaves were themselves slaves, which increased the size of the master’s free workforce.

Even if an Irish woman somehow obtained her freedom, her kids would remain slaves of her master. Thus, Irish mothers, even with this new found emancipation, would seldom abandon their children and would remain in servitude.

In time, the English thought of a better way to use these women to increase their market share: The settlers began to breed Irish women and girls (many as young as 12) with African men to produce slaves with a distinct complexion. These new “mulatto” slaves brought a higher price than Irish livestock and, likewise, enabled the settlers to save money rather than purchase new African slaves.

This practice of interbreeding Irish females with African men went on for several decades and was so widespread that, in 1681, legislation was passed “forbidding the practice of mating Irish slave women to African slave men for the purpose of producing slaves for sale.” In short, it was stopped only because it interfered with the profits of a large slave transport company.

England continued to ship tens of thousands of Irish slaves for more than a century. Records state that, after the 1798 Irish Rebellion, thousands of Irish slaves were sold to both America and Australia. There were horrible abuses of both African and Irish captives. One British ship even dumped 1,302 slaves into the Atlantic Ocean so that the crew would have plenty of food to eat.

There is little question the Irish experienced the horrors of slavery as much (if not more, in the 17th Century) as the Africans did. There is also little question that those brown, tanned faces you witness in your travels to the West Indies are very likely a combination of African and Irish ancestry.

In 1839, Britain finally decided on it’s own to end its participation in Satan’s highway to hell and stopped transporting slaves. While their decision did not stop pirates from doing what they desired, the new law slowly concluded this chapter of Irish misery.

But, if anyone, black or white, believes that slavery was only an African experience, then they’ve got it completely wrong. Irish slavery is a subject worth remembering, not erasing from our memories.

But, why is it so seldom discussed? Do the memories of hundreds of thousands of Irish victims not merit more than a mention from an unknown writer?

Or is their story to be the one that their English masters intended: To completely disappear as if it never happened.

None of the Irish victims ever made it back to their homeland to describe their ordeal. These are the lost slaves; the ones that time and biased history books conveniently forgot.

Interesting historical note: the last person killed at the Salem Witch Trials was Ann Glover. She and her husband had been shipped to Barbados as a slave in the 1650's. Her husband was killed there for refusing to renounce catholicism.

In the 1680's she was working as a housekeeper in Salem. After some of the children she was caring for got sick she was accused of being a witch.

At the trial they demanded she say the Lord's Prayer. She did so, but in Gaelic, because she didn't know English. She was then hung.

Remove Andrew Jackson From The $20 Dollar Bill?

This is one that leaves you shaking your head.

A liberal campaign called Women on 20s, seeks to put the face of a woman on the $20 bill by 2020, the 100th anniversary of 19th Amendment, which granted the right to vote to women in the United States. After conducting a survey of a 100 people, around two dozen of whom were historians and experts in women's history, the campaign has landed on 15 potential candidates: Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Rachel Carson, Shirley Chisholm, Betty Friedan, Barbara Jordan, Patsy Mink, Rosa Parks, Alice Paul, Frances Perkins, Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Sanger, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman.

The group also feels Andrew Jackson should be removed based on his treatment of Native Americans, yet this same group is promoting Margaret Sanger who created Planned Parenthood. Her movement has killed more innocent minorities than Hitler's Nazi regime.

Norm Hughes: Call In Ask Michigan Governor Snyder Tough Questions On Sales Tax

Norm Hughes
Here is your chance to ask Gov. Snyder: TOMORROW MORNING CALL IN!

 1) Why he will not repeal prevailing wag laws and save taxpayers $400 million a year ($224 Million on just school construction), or apply that savings to roads?

2) If threat to life and damage to cars is such a threat, why is Only $400 million of the $2.2 Billion tax increase the first year going to roads?

3) Why is only $800 million dedicated to roads the second year?

 4) What does throwing more money at schools, mass transit, earned income tax credits have to do with fixing roads?

5) The Senate Fiscal Agency says the general fund budget and school aid fund will both increase be more than $2 Billion over the next three years. Why is that not enough to fix roads?

6) The number of Public School students has been decreasing by a few thousand each year, but Republicans have been throwing another $250 million a year at schools. Why does this proposal guarantee another $300 million a year, even if the number of students keep decreasing.

7) Why are you stubbornly refusing to look at other options that will fix roads without increasing taxes? Here is your chance to ask him: Do you have a question about fixing Michigan's roads, the River of Opportunity, the state budget, or any number of issues related to state government?

You can ask Governor Rick Snyder your questions, and he'll be answering them live on Michigan Public Radio's Michigan Calling show on Monday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. You can listen live on all public radio stations across the state or watch the live stream at

Listeners with questions can call 866-255-2762. Questions can also be submitted in advance and during the broadcast via social media using the hashtag ‪#‎MICalling‬ on Twitter or by posting on the “Michigan Calling” page on Facebook.

Woman Complains When Man Enter's Planet Fitness Locker Room, She Loses Membership

A woman in Midland , Michigan, had her Planet Fitness
Yvette Cormier
membership canceled after she refused to stop telling other gym members that a “man” was using the facilities in the women’s locker room.

Yvette Cormier claims that when she went to exercise at her local Planet Fitness in Midland on Feb. 28, she came across a male gym-goer in the women’s locker room. "I was blocked, because a man was standing there," Cormier told WNEM TV 5 in Saginaw, Michigan on Friday.

"It freaked me out because, why is a man in here?" Cormier complained to the front desk. “This is very unprofessional. This is very scary,” Cormier added. “They told me the same thing, that he was allowed in there because that’s the sex he wants to be.”  Cormier said she understood that some men identify as women and that some women identify as men but said the person had a very masculine appearance.

The person has not been identified. Planet Fitness is well-known for its “judgment-free policy” and a statement released by McCall Gosselin, public relations director for the popular chain of gyms, said that any member can use the locker room that corresponds with the gender a person identifies with.

“Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity,” the statement said.

“The manner in which this member expressed her concerns about the policy exhibited behavior that management at the Midland club deemed inappropriate and disruptive to other members, which is a violation of the membership agreement and as a result her membership was cancelled."

Meanwhile, Cormier believed the incident was “one-sided” and that she was “the only one being punished.” She also asked that Planet Fitness provide a third locker room for transgendered people.

Report: Obama Threatened to Shoot Down Israeli Airforce Planes If They Flew Toward Iran

The Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an has cited a Kuwaiti newspaper report Saturday, that US President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack
against Iran's nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Following Obama's threat, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was reportedly forced to abort the planned Iran attack.

According to Al-Jarida, the Netanyahu government took the decision to strike Iran some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel's back.

The report claimed that an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the US administration revealed the attack plan to Secretary of State John Kerry, and that Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Al-Jarida quoted "well-placed" sources as saying that Netanyahu, along with Minister of Defense Moshe Yaalon, and then-Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, had decided to carry out airstrikes against Iran's nuclear program after consultations with top security commanders.

According to the report, “Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army's chief of staff, Benny Gantz, to prepare a qualitative operation against Iran's nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel's security.”

The sources added that Gantz and his commanders prepared the requested plan and that Israeli fighter jets trained for several weeks in order to make sure the plans would work successfully. Israeli fighter jets reportedly even carried out experimental flights in Iran's airspace after they managed to break through radars.
